忘了告诉你，你可以上去维基百科查一查无夏之年的典故。1816年在北半球发生的天气反常，有些严重地区，甚至夏天降雪。可以想象当时人经历的世界末日感，惶惶然不知何所以然。许多年以后，科学家相信这严重的天气反常，主因是1815年印尼的一场火山大爆发。

我开始写这个故事的时候，有想象过魔幻写实。当然我是非常喜欢马奎斯的《百年孤寂》，和他笔下的马贡多，我尤其喜欢的是他的开场，关于那个上校面临枪毙之前，想起了他第一次看见冰的那个下午....

When I was a kid, I saw a black and white photo of a mermaid on the beach. The photo was in our family album. The mermaid is inverted, a fish head with woman's legs. My father told me that a few years ago, someone took that photo in Cherating, a neighboring village. He said when the photo was taken, the mermaid was dead. For a long time, I believed that there are mermaids in Cherating.
