Waiting For Snow In Kuantan

Ah Guo ( GAN Hui Yee) lives with her parent in a Chinese new village. Everyday she watches television and plants vegetable in her garden. She observes the growth of her vegetable everyday.

She had just waked up from her coma a month ago. She was hospitalized for the past three years after an accident. She lost a big part of her memories. To make the matter worst, she had gained too much weight under the improper care of the hospital.

Before her coma she was a beautiful girl. But her parent hides this fact from her. And we would later find out they are keeping more secrets about her past.

There is a rambutan tree in her house. Lately there is a thief who keeps stealing the rambutans. Everyday, Ah Guo waits at her window to try to catch the thief. She realizes that it was someone with a yellow umbrella.

Leang Lee is her neighbour. He moves to this neighborhood lately. He is a teacher at a primary school. In contrast with Ah Guo, Leang Lee is a man who is full of memories. He can?t believe an existence without any memories.

One day Ah Guo asks Leang Lee if he know of a place that is full of rambutan trees. It is one of the remaining memories Ah Guo had. She thinks it is important for her to find the rambutan orchard.

They decide to look for the place.

At first they look for the orchard next to a Chinese cemetery. The orchard had been developed into a crematorium.

They got robbed on the way out and saved by a man(HO Yuhang).

In the end they found the orchard in Kuantan. It is belong to a Malay widow(Yasmin AHMAD). Ah Guo and Leang Lee lives in the widow?s house. The widow always have fear of losing her memories of her husband (Namron). She is afraid if she lost her memory, she would lose her love for him too.

In the end Ah Guo found the diary of her husband under a rambutan tree. There is a poem written for the widow, entitled ? Waiting for snow in Kuantan?.
