The next application deadlines are:

The Swiss fund visions sud est was initiated by the Foundation trigon-film Baden and the Fribourg International Film Festival, with the collaboration of Nyon's Visions du Reel and the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. It supports film productions from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe, aims at making them visible worldwide and guarantees their distribution in Switzerland.

The application consists of two parts, i.e. the webform submitted online and the complete application file sent by post. For administrative reasons, the second part must be sent by post. It is not possible to send the documents by e-mail!

1. Criteria:

Make sure your project meets our criteria by reading the regulations on our website carefully. Applications which do not meet our criteria will not be taken into consideration.

2. Application:

Send us your full application consisting of:

a) The form on our website. All fields must, without exception, be completed and the form must be submitted electronically via the "submit" button on our website. We do not accept this form if sent by post.

b) The application file - that must be sent in duplicate by post - consisting of:

FOR PRODUCTION SUPPORT:

- information regarding the production company (company background, filmography and biography of producer)

- corporate statutes or certificate of registration of the production company

- final version of the screenplay (draft versions are not accepted)

- synopsis and, if available, treatment, storyboard, photographic documentation etc. For documentaries, an outline/treatment as detailed as possible.

- director's declaration of intent

- director's biography and filmography

- production schedule

- detailed budget (please indicate currency clearly!). Global budgets will not be accepted.

- financial plan with clear indications about confirmed and requested funds. If no funds are secured yet, please state so clearly and outline how you intend to raise them.

- copies of documents regarding confirmed or requested support (as listed in the financial plan. For each item listed as secured in the financial plan we wish to see a respective document!)

- copies of co-production agreements (or letter of intent if the agreement is not set up yet)

- agreements of international sales, distribution or television rights already confirmed (if applicable)

- copy of agreement regarding author's rights (if screenplay author and producer are not identical)

- a letter signed by the director, stating that he or she is in agreement that the production company is applying for support at visions sud est.

- any other documents of artistic or financial nature that could provide additional information about financing or production of the project

FOR POST-PRODUCTION SUPPORT:

- all items mentioned above, except the screenplay. PLEASE NOTE: We also need to see the budget, financial plan and production plan of the whole production!

- 2 video tapes or DVDs with a first cut, corresponding to at least two third of the film, subtitled in English or French, or a list of subtitles in English or French for the submitted first cut

- the post-production plan

- the post-production budget and corresponding financial plan (in addition to the budget and financing plan of the whole production as listed above), with detailed information regarding the cost of the work not yet financed, along with an explanation of the budget deficit items and copies of documents regarding confirmed or requested funds (as listed in the financial plan for the post-production).

---> all documents must be in English or French

---> The first part of the application, i.e. the webform, must be completed and submitted via our website. The second part of the application, i.e. the complete application file must be sent by post. It is not possible to send these documents by e-mail.

---> your application file must be submitted in duplicate (including accompanying tapes or DVDs)

Please note that we do not accept incomplete applications!

3. Deadline:

Make sure to meet the deadline! The form on the website as well as all other documents must arrive in our office not later than 5.00 pm local Swiss time on the day of the deadline. Applications that arrive later may be considered for the following selection round in case they meet our criteria and are complete.

4. Postal mail:

Please send two copies of your application. Write "no commercial value, for cultural purpose only" on the envelopes, otherwise we will need to pay senseless and expensive customs fees. Send your application to:

5. Administration:

We try our best to answer your requests and applications quickly. At the same time, it is our intention to keep administrative costs low in order to devote as much as possible of visions sud est's funds to the film projects. We therefore kindly ask you to note also the following:

- The office of the fund is not open daily. Please du not call us in order to ask questions about the application procedures or about your application, we suggest you first read the informations on our website carefully or write us a mail if there remains an open question. Answers to many questions we have received so far can be found on our website in the sections regulations and form!

- Since we receive a lot of applications, it is not possible to answer individual questions about the status of each application. Normally we acknowledge receipt of the application (electronic form plus paper file) by e-mail within one month following the deadline .

- As a rule, the decisions of the selection committee will be communicated within the following time frame:
1) Post-production projects: app. 2 months following the deadline
2) Production projects: app. 4 months following the deadline

The applicants will be notified by e-mail about the decision taken by the selection committee, but not about the reasons for its decision. The titles of the supported projects will be published on our website.
