The 38th International Film Festival Rotterdam is held on 21th of January to 1st of February 2009.With the great honour, Tan Chui Mui is appointed to be the jury for Tiger Awards Competition for Short Films.

Among the jury of the Tiger Awards Competition for Short Films, it also consists of Maria Pallier, buyer and programme maker for the Spanish broadcasting company TVE, and the British journalist, curator and artist George Clark.

The World Premiere in 38th International Film Festival Rotterdam will show Mui's 7 short films under one programme called " ALL MY FAILED ATTEMPTS". Nevertheless, one of the short film, Everyday Everyday, is in competition of the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival which is a festival specific only in short films.

Tan Chui Mui had shot 7 short films in year 2008. She tried to make one short film every month. And she did it. "I like making short films, since it is normally done over a weekend with a group of friends, it is much more fun than making long film." Mui said.
