The sixth Berlinale Co-Production Market will be held from Sunday to Tuesday, February 8-10, 2009, as part of the 59th Berlin International Film Festival.
It is a 2 1/2-day event designed especially for producers, financiers, sales agents, distributors, broadcasting and funding representatives who are actively participating and have experience in international co-productions.
If your project is selected for the Berlinale Co-Production Market, you will have the opportunity to present it to interested co-production partners and financiers in pre-scheduled individual meetings.
Moreover, in framework programme producers can catch up on current film financing strategies in case studies and workshops, get first-hand information on co-production opportunities at the "Country Tables", exchange experiences in "Theme Talks" and establish new and refresh existing contacts during informal "Speed Matchings", cocktail receptions or while visiting the "Producers' Lounge".

Today, I cried uncontrollably. Tears kept rolling down my beautiful autumn-in-Paris cheeks. I whispered to myself loudly, "WHY THIS SUDDEN RUSH OF EMOTIONS? AM I TURNING INTO A CREATURE CALLED WOMAN??". At the same time, I reached down to feel my genitalia. Phew! You would not imagine how relief I was when I found out that I'm pretty much still a man.
Then I realised, the cause of the whole drama was the onions that I was chopping. No I don't slice, I chop.

When you are in a french restaurant and some cocky french waiters show you his attitude because you are a fucking asian better looking than them, say it to his face. You don't have to shout. The softer you say it, the better. So that when he couldn't hear you, he'll lean closer to you. Then you whisper in his ear. It's very effective. They understood what I was saying coz I got thrown out from the restaurant.

Biting Cinema: Viewing the country's liminal zones by Benjamin McKay
Azharr Rudin's Punggok Rindukan Bulan (This Longing) is many worlds away from the glamorous horror of Susuk. This languidly paced rumination on space and place is, on the surface, a tale about a young boy Sidi (Saeful Nazhif Satria) and his father Adman (Sahronizam Noor) who are both emotionally dealing with the absence of Umi (Maya Karin), their mother and wife. Shot in Johor Bahru and largely set in the recently demolished Bukit Chagar housing development, this modest but astonishing film is proof that the promise of Azharr's The Amber Sexalogy was indeed justified. In making a thematic link to my musings on liminality, I can think of no more profoundly liminal a place than JB, and this film captures it with a quiet, poetic intensity rarely found on Malaysian screens.

I've arrived in Paris for a few days now and I'm freezing my balls out already(it doesn't help when you have more than 2 balls). A friend suggested that I should be wearing my pants when I'm out walking in the streets. I guess she's right.
